Whether it's terrestrial networks connecting devices in close proximity or non-terrestrial networks reaching across vast distances\, the importance of timing cannot be overstated. Today\, we're going to delve into the intriguing world of timing and its impact on both terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks \nPERSONAL PROFILE:  Chris Farrow \n \nChris has been “in sync” since the mid-1990s when he was involved in significant upgrades with the UK’s major network operators as they rolled out their first dedicated sync platforms. Chris joined Chronos from Marconi’s UK Technical Assistance Centre in January 2006. \nAt Marconi\, Chris was a sync product specialist and emergency support engineer for Marconi’s entire product portfolio from PSTN to optical and packet. \nAt Chronos Chris is responsible for professional synchronisation services including delivery of the Synchronisation MasterClass\, Sync Audit\, and Network Architecture Planning & Consultancy for customers rolling out 5G networks. He participates in the ITU Study Group 15\, Question 13 (synchronisation) which sets the standards for sync in telecommunications. \nChris holds an Honours degree in Physics & Electronics from UMIST – the University of Manchester Institute of Science & Technology \n

He holds a master's degree in telecommunication engineering with a specialization in optical communication from Politecnico di Milano. \n  \nPERSONAL PROFILE: Juergen Rummelsberger \n \nJürgen Rummelsberger currently holds the position of Senior Application Engineer with EXFO\, focusing on solutions around high-speed transmissions. His areas of expertise cover technical sales support\, technical seminars\, training and support as well as providing expert advice to EXFO’s clientele of operators\, network equipment vendors\, hyperscalers and research labs. \nJürgen holds a Dipl.-Ing. degree in Telecommunication Engineering.
