On 7th and 8th November Cisco hosted an exclusive Innovation Showcase event at BT Adastral Park for 135 BT employees and special guests from Innovation Martlesham. The event was a combination of live presentations, discussions and technology demonstrations which helped attendees learn more about Cisco’s latest strategy, new solutions and joint innovations with BT.
Attendees had the chance to see streamed presentations on partner strategy and the latest engineering innovations from both Cisco CEO Chuck Robbins and also Cisco engineering leader and Exec Vice President David Goeckeler. In addition, two Cisco CTOs discussed how these transformations were relevant to BT at an infrastructure level and also framed how BT will be taking these innovations, adding differentiated services, and providing them out to their end-customers.
Outside the lecture theatre there was a wealth of technology demonstrations including the latest Cisco Software Defined WAN and NFV solutions, Cisco’s new Software Defined Access architecture, Cloud Managed Networking, Security, IOT and next generation collaboration as well as a really cool multi-screen TV demo!
Star of the show was special guest, and young British racing driver, Josh Webster. Not only did Josh park his Carrera Cup Porsche on the stage, but he also brought along his full motion virtual reality racing simulator. This proved a huge attraction as attendees competed to record the fastest lap. Congratulations to the winners!
It was a great event and showed the huge level of innovation and collaboration that exists between the BT and Cisco teams. We’re already looking forward to the next one!
