A New Platform is Launched Enabling Businesses To Easily Offer Placements, Internships or Graduate roles to local University students
At the University of Suffolk, The Careers, Employability and Enterprise Team play a vital role in helping employers with recruitment solutions by connecting businesses with students and graduates who are looking for work but in also helping students find experience placements in order to meet Course Curriculum requirements.
To help with marrying up students and businesses, the team has launched a new job platform called ‘Handshake’. Employers can now create their own profile to raise awareness of their organisation and then add any opportunities for students. This is a great way to demonstrate their willingness to being part of a Students’ learning journey and to get involved with offering year in industry opportunities, summer internships, part-time roles, casual/temporary employment and short work experience/insight experiences.

Computing Students in Y1 and Y2 are keen to put their skills to use with paid 8 to 12 week long summer internships to gain some practical experience, ideally in Software/Web Development or cyber security?
Each year, second year Business Management students need up to 100 hours of work experience to complete their Career & Professional Development in Practice module. They have a variety of interests including Events, Marketing, Finance, Customer Service and Data analysis and could assist with tasks such as content creation, administration, competitor analysis, desk based research projects and more. Typically this work experience is completed between Jan and April but is extremely flexible (other than fitting around lectures).
