Innovation Martlesham has a far reaching network of both industry and academic connections, creating exciting possibilities for companies within our cluster. The DigiTech Centre at Adastral Park brings research and engineering students right into the heart of our wider ecosystem. 

The £9.6 million research and engineering facility is a joint project between the University of Suffolk and BT.

The DigiTech Centre will provide cutting-edge digital skills for people looking to pursue careers in information and communications technology and received the blessing of Her Royal Highness, Princess Anne, when she visited Adastral Park at the beginning of the project. 

Specialist high tech laboratories form the heart of the new centre and it will be used jointly by University staff, students and businesses from within Innovation Martlesham and across the region.

These laboratories form a state of the art ‘solution centre’ and ‘research and knowledge transfer hub’ for SMEs and other businesses. The centre focuses in on AI, Data Science, Network and Cyber Security - helping to affirm Adastral Park as a recognised destination for industry-focused ICT and Digital Creative study programmes and an internationally recognised destination for continuous professional development in digital technologies.

The DigiTech Centre provides a rich pipeline of new technology talent, which has the potential to be of huge benefit to Innovation Martlesham companies. The courses and scholarships offered through the University of Suffolk will mean students graduating with key research and engineering skills right on our doorstep.

With funding from the New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), the DigiTech centre is expected to help supply the skilled workforce demanded by our fast-growing and high-value digital tech sector.
