Nicky starts by asking Paul what or who is LoRa ? Paul goes onto explain LoRa is short for Long Range and is a new wide area networking technology specifically aimed at long range, low power devices used in association with the internet of things ( IoT ) opportunities. Paul also goes on to explain the multiple uses of this technology in in sectors such as Agriculture, Utilities and Local Government with their Smart City activities. Finally Paul speculates on the age old question of who ultimately might fund LoRaWAN technology for consumers when current trials indicate there is a proven business case to enable sustainable services to be launched.
