IM company Blue Novation have been celebrating the really positive effects of taking part in RED January.
RED January is a national initiative led by MIND, the mental health charity, with the aim of getting people active in the first 31 days of the year to beat the January blues.
Active Suffolk led on a social media campaign, and Blue Novation were recognised for their involvement by receiving tickets to ITFC’s home game on 15th February, where they enjoyed seeing the Blues win 4-1 !
Trudy Sore, Blue Novation’s Learning & Development Director, “There is a link between physical exercise and improved mental well-being and we decided we wanted to get involved to help combat the post-Christmas slump.
We had people cycling into work every day, others went to the gym or fitted walks around meetings. One of the most popular activities was a Clarity Walk, where we all left our phones in the office and walked (and chatted) our way around Adastral Park. It’s fair to say that some days were easier than others ! And it was definitely the fact that we were involved in RED January that got us out of the door when it was cold, grey and wet.
We’ve had all 31 tweets made into a poster for the office wall to inspire us to carry on with getting active every day. As we had such a positive response this year, we’ve already decided to do RED January 2021, and we would love to have some of our fellow IM companies get involved too.”
